The most valuable contribution is the sharing of historical railroad maps. While rare, they represent the most direct link to the past and are valued for their accuracy and content.
Site photographs are useful for interpretive and verification purposes. Aerial photographs are extremely helpful to identify former rights-of-way and site-specific information.
While this is not an oral history project as such, stories often contain clues on the whereabouts of abandoned railroads. If you have or know the whereabouts of a historical Oregon railroad map, vintage photographs and/or stories, please contact us.
OHRP will soon establish an appropriate mechanism enabling you to make tax-deductible contributions to support the project. Please contact us for further updates.
