Private Railroads

The great untold story in Oregon's railroad history is the 6,000 miles of private railroads that were used to log the state's virgin forests. As the Oregon Historical Railroads Project expands we'll see the impact private railroads had on the landscape and the socialization that brought us well into the 20th century.
